An Extra Word for the Veep Writing Staff
As you may or may not have heard, the Veep writing staff won a WGA award for Best Comedy Series this past Saturday night.
A lot gets made of the improvisational elements of our show, and they are a part of the process in rehearsal and on set, but too often there is a misconception that it is fully improvised.
Our tireless staff puts a preposterous amount of work into writing and re-writing the scripts before re-writing them again. They are constantly tweaking, moving, condensing, cutting, and revising to create the selfish and awful world in which we get to work, and the selfish and awful characters that we get to play and play opposite. For this we thank them.
